They are not safe for newborns, so their is no rush to run out & get one. However, I do think it’s a must have once a baby is about a year or so. They’re much easier to use.

The best thing, if possible, is to shop without him. The next best thing (I only had to do it once), was to stop shopping immediately and take him to the car and wait until he calms down.

If that’s not possible, since you’re not in an airplane, just wear ear plugs, take him kid appropriate places durng the day (the supermarket but not an upscale clothing store) and ignore the stares of the childless people who think you’re invading their space.

No, not at all. You won’t even use it for a LONG time. The baby will be in her infant seat in the stroller until she is too big for it anyway. By that time, you should have saved enough to get an umbrella stroller. I use one when I go on short walks. Its easier than the big one. They are seriously like $20. Or try looking at freecycle websites in the town you live in!! =) you may find one there

Get him involved with the shopping, ask him to point out things that you tell him you need, get him to hold the shopping list or write him a seperate one, then let him put things in the trolly for you. This way it’ll seem more fun to him.

I am having the same problem. I have noticed if I put him straight into the cart, keep moving (yeah makes looking around hard) and never let him out no matter what, he gets used to it.
