Car Seat Strollers

Richard Basa asked:

Having a child entails a lot of things. Changing diapers, buying the kid’s much needed nutrients, feeding him or her, etc. But one of the things that parents also think of is how to transport their newborns around especially when there’s a trip outdoors like to a park, for example. There are several items that can be used in such a circumstance and a stroller is one of them, a car seat stroller at that. But what is it anyway.

A car seat stroller is a kind of stroller that fits inside a car. You will surely have a good time with it around. It doubles as a baby seat especially when the family is in transport. It is likewise easy to use and very portable. It can be detached and reattached from the stroller to fit onto a specific seat inside the vehicle. So instead of having two separate items, you now have only one. You definitely will have your moneys worth in having one. The manufacturers have taken into consideration the cumbersome nature of having a stroller and a baby seat and combine them into a single product.

A car seat stroller was made for a few reasons. One is convenience. Being a parent can be complicated to say the least. Shopping for diapers, clothes, food, etc. and getting your child check ups is only one of the responsibilities that you as a parent can and will face. Getting a child in and out of the car can be an exhausting activity so having a car seat stroller can be helpful. Also, having a car sear stroller can help you with your errands. Take the seat with your child in it and secure it onto the stroller and there you have it. For those parents who have plane trips, having a car seat stroller helps as well since it frees up more hands and more hands mean more things can be attended to.

There are, however, some drawbacks in having it in a car. A baby does grow after all so the size of the seat can be a bit limiting for the child since he or she would want to move around more as he or she’s growing. Another thing is that there are some stroller designs in the market that doesn’t really cater to the baby’s seat and that finding one can be a bit of a drag. Also, some car seat stroller designs may cost you since they can be changed from a regular stroller to a car seat stroller and vice versa.

What can I get my mom for her baby shower?

Lauren E asked:

I’m 15, and my mother is having a baby in December. She is having a little boy, but I have a problem. She already has so many baby clothes from relatives and she has a crib, high chair, stroller, car seat and a playpen. I really don’t know what to get for her. Should I just buy her diapers and formula or what? Thanks in advance.

Baby Stroller Accessories For Parenting Pleasure

David Cummings asked:

There are countless baby stroller accessories to choose from when outfitting your child’s stroller for a more comfortable ride. There is everything from extra cushions, to strap covers and extra storage to toys that hang down for them to play with if the ride gets too boring. Baby stroller accessories fit most all standard size strollers, and there are also baby stroller accessories for double and triple strollers as well.

Starting at the back of the stroller, where the parents stand and push the stroller, there is a parent’s organizer, which is basically either a tray that snaps on to where the handle is or a ‘bucket’ that has Velcro straps and it hangs from the curved handle. The ‘bucket’ has two cup holders and a secret pocket for valuables and the middle is insulated for snacks or can just be used to carry keys and a cell phone.

Also in the back of the stroller are several different types of stroller accessories such as mesh bags and thin backpack style bags for carrying extra clothing or diapers or toys that don’t fit in the cargo area below. These bags usually Velcro on or slip over the handle bars or curved bar for pushing the stroller, in addition to the bags, there are large plastic hooks that snap on to the arched pushing handle that will be able to hold a diaper bag strap, purse strap, grocery bag or a coat and scarf. They come in sets of two and are great stroller accessories to add.

There are countless items that can be snapped onto the arch that is the handle that pushes the stroller. There are cup holders, an umbrella holder, a powerful light for dark nights, and an odometer for telling how far you’ve gone, especially for jogging strollers.

Inside the stroller there are a number of stroller accessories that help baby to be more comfortable such as strap covers and adjustors, quilted bumper padding or a small head holder for when she or he is trying to sleep. Lambskin covers for the entire strollers inside to help keep them comfortable and then there are mesh netting that cover the entire strollers outside so that there are no bugs getting to the babies and rain ‘hoods’ and covers to keep them dry.

Other stroller accessories include frames to convert the strollers into car seat or carrier holders so you don’t have to move the baby from the car seat over to the stroller; the car seat becomes the stroller.

There are add-on stroller accessories such as the toddler stroller step in which a toddler can stand and ‘ride’ along with the baby. This attachment goes on the back of the stroller and has two wheels to stable the child and they can hold on to the inside of the arch while the parent pushes the stroller. Along the same lines as the toddler stroller step, there is the jump seat for toddlers in which it attaches to the back of the stroller, allowing the toddler to sit behind the baby and ride along with them, basically making a single stroller into a stroller for two!

Other Stroller Accessories Improve Your Stroller

David Cummings asked:

When you purchase a stroller, there are a few things that come with it, such as the covered hood to help keep the sun out of the babies eyes and the basket underneath to carry packages or the diaper bag, but there are other stroller accessories  you can purchase separately to make your baby’s stroller the best it can be.

Other stroller accessories include something for the baby to play with. This can be an arch of hanging toys that you attach on either side of the stroller so the toys hang down over the stroller the baby while they are lying down, and they can play with them sitting up as well.

Strollers, depending on the brand and manufacturer, frequently have a small tray for the baby, but what about the parents? You can purchase a tray that snaps onto the back of the stroller, near the top where you push the stroller, so that you can put your cups (usually two), keys, and other small items. Other stroller accessories also include a odometer for jogging strollers so you know how far you have jogged with your child. That accessory can clip on to the handle and could also be used on a regular stroller for measuring your walks.

A mesh bag or thin ’stroller backpack’ that straps onto the back of the stroller is another type of stroller accessory you can purchase to help with storage when you take long trips with the baby and stroller. Long days at the amusement park require clothing changes and perhaps a swimsuit, and these things can be kept in the mesh bag or ’stroller backpack’ that attaches to the back of the stroller, leaving more room for diapers in the diaper bag or tote.

Other stroller accessories  might include a ‘jump’ seat for a sibling to ride along or stand at the back of the stroller. These would have to be securely mounted to the frame of the stroller, but it’s worth the effort to have them ride along on long trips such as at the mall or the amusement park.

A carrier or car seats are also included in other stroller accessories. There are adaptors that you can purchase to add a car seat or carrier to the stroller, especially for infants, so you don’t have to take them out of one item and put them into another, such as taking them out of the car seat and putting them into the stroller. When you first purchase a stroller, look to make sure that you can adapt to a car seat or carrier, it’s worth the extra money for one of these types.

Other stroller accessories would include bumper pads and blankets for the stroller if you have a newborn or a smaller infant and you are using the stroller with all the sides up, more like a ‘buggy’ or pram than a seated stroller. Just as with their crib, you want to protect them from bumps when walking around on uneven pavement or accidently knocking into something or someone at a crowded mall.

Having other stroller accessories can make your stroller even better for you and your child.
